Housed in a restored 1879 building, this Galveston boutique is literally an "old favorite"; rooms with beadboard walls have "character", there's a rooftop terrace and guests can hit the harbor for fishing and sailing, then sup on seafood at the on-site Merchant Prince; but cutting-edgers find it "historic" to the point of being a little "tired"; N.B. there are pool privileges at the affiliated Hotel Galvez.

Nice room, wood floors, high celilings.

Time of year in the strand, nothing was going on - walked somewhere and didn't feel safe.

Great hotel with great rooms. We came in the winter and there was little happening in the Strand area. We walked to Willie G's from the hotel and didn't feel completely safe.

The rooms are large.

The parking is overpriced.

The Tremont is a wonderful, historic hotel with large rooms and bathrooms. The ceilings are high, and the hardware is much more substantial, and nicer than in most hotels. We love staying at the Tremont due to its accessibility to great dining, shopping, art and culture. We spend more time near the strand and downtown, so this hotel is perfect! ...read more

The hotel was withing walking distance of many good restaurants.

The bed was not very comfortable - there was a big dip in the mattress - $15 to valet park.

The Tremont House is very nice for a winter pre-cruise stay. The room was spacious and furnished nicely. There is no parking except on the street and valet parking for $15/night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. ...read more

I am so disappointed and they should have complemented me for my inconvenience!

Loud noises, disrespectful front desk, small rooms, torn carpet, no views, no pool, no nice restaurant, etc.

It used to be a nice hotel but it has changed. No more nice restaurant, no pool or spa, poor personnel, dirty and we had to move after we went to sleep due to loud noises that they were aware of but put us in this room. ...read more

Wonderful evening entertainment, great food enjoyed the workout facilities as well as bellmen with great manners.

Street name made hard to find, nice corner room but the views were of a brick wall and the other an alley - trash truck several times early AM.

Very nice hotel with great staff, exceptional food and food manager. Enjoyed access to weight room and amenities. Evening entertainment very enjoyable.

The pool is offsite and parking is limited, so we used valet at $15.

Fitness facility was free, clean, new and sufficient.

Beautiful architecture/history, southern plantation styling, room lush and comfortable. Doormen conscientious, fitness room was excellent, free parking at meters on the street for now.
